THE LOUIS VUITTON "LADY TRUNK" WAS DISCOVERED WITHIN THE FIRST YEARS OF THE COMPANY. THE YEAR OF 1906 FOUNDER LOUIS VUITTON DECIDED TO CREATE A MONOGRAM TRUNK FOR THE LADIES. THIS SPECIAL TRUNK WOULD MAKE PACKING SO MUCH EASIER FOR FEMALE CLIENTS OF LOUIS VUITTON THAT OTHER WOMAN AND THEIR MAIDS WOULD LACK. INSIDE THE TRUNK WOULD INCLUDE FOUR REMOVABLE TRAYS: ONE FOR HATS; ONE WITH DIVIDERS FOR ACCESSORIES THAT WERE PROTECTED SUCH AS GLOVES, FANS, JABOTS, AND ALSO SHAWLS. ANOTHER DIVIDER FOR UNDER GARMENTS; SUCH AS PETTICOATS, CHEMISES, CORSETS, AND HOSIERY.THE LEFT SPACE WAS FOR MUCH LARGER ITEMS WOMEN WOULD NEED USE FOR SUCH AS COATS. THE DESIGN OF THIS TRUNK WOULD MURDER COMPETITION AS THE THE BIG "LV" STANDS ON THE OUT OF THE TRUNK IN YELLOW GOLD. IF MY TIME WAS AROUND THE YEARS OF THE EARLY 1900'S I WOULD MAKE SURE MY WIFE HAD THIS TRUNK STASHED AWAY IN HER CLOSET. THIS VINTAGE TRUNK DESIGN IS CLASSIC. YOU ARE NOW LOOKING AT THE "LADY TRUNK" OF 1906.
